“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105
The Word of God converts, revives and renews the soul like medicine. Thank You God for Your holy Word that nourishes our hearts, souls, and minds in Christ.
The Holy Scriptures is God’s written revelation to man. God’s Word is our instruction book, guide, and hope for this life. In it we find His truth and grace for each day.
There are 66 books in the Bible, 39 in the Old Testament, 27 in the New Testament. The Old Testament Covenant is a promise God made with Abraham, Israel, Jews. The New Testament is a promise God made with the Church, believing Jews and Gentiles, through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit.
The Old Testament was written from about 100 B.C. to 400 B.C. The New Testament was written from about A.D. 40 to A.D. 90-100. The Bible was written over three different continents: Asia, Africa, and Europe. The writings of Ezekiel were composed in Babylon (Asia). Moses wrote the first five books of the Bible in Sinai (Africa). The Apostle Paul wrote his letter to the Philippians while in Rome (Europe).
The Bible was written in three languages, Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek. Koine Greek, the New Testament language, and the Koine “common” Greek language, which was the international language and an advanced written language at the time of Christ. Jesus very likely spoke Aramaic, Hebrew, and Greek. Aramaic was probably the language Jesus spoke the most as Aramaic was the common language in Israel during Jesus’ time. The Apostle Paul spoke Hebrew and Greek.

Christianity is not a religion but a personal relationship with God by faith through His Son the Lord Jesus Christ.
Thank You Lord for Your holy Word. Speak to me in it each day. Amen.
