So they came to Jerusalem. Then Jesus went into the temple and began to drive out those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves. And He would not allow anyone to carry wares through the temple. Then He taught, saying to them, “Is it not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations’? But you have made it a ‘den of thieves.'” And the scribes and chief priests heard it and sought how they might destroy Him; for they feared Him, because all the people were astonished at His teaching.
– Mark 11:15-18

Wow, this scene always amazes me and reminds me how important prayer is to God. Jesus, God’s Son, made it very clear in the temple on that day. How wonderful to know that God loves to hear our prayers! The prayers of the saints are like incense to God which He delights in. Doesn’t this encourage you to go into your prayer closet and pray to Jesus? God always hears and answers prayer in His perfect time. Much prayer, much power, little prayer, little power, no prayer, no power.

Thank You Jesus for the power and gift of prayer. Thank You Lord that we can come to You anytime, anywhere, and You are always there. Just the way You hear the birds chirping when they cry out to You…You also hear when I call You. Thank You for hearing and answering my prayers. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
