MOM = WOW If you begin to doubt your greatness, remember that MOM is WOW upside down…
It’s the 100th anniversary of Mother’s Day!
“The four sweetest words of the English language are Heaven, Home, Love, and Mother.”
Mid pleasures and palaces though we may roam, be it ever so humble, there’s no place like home. -John Howard Payne, “Home Sweet Home” from the opera Clari, The Maid of Milan
In the days of King Solomon he honored his mother by meeting her and bowing down to her, he would sit on his throne and had a throne set for his mother to sit at his right hand. (1 Kings 2:19).
She opens her mouth with wisdom and on her tongue is the law of kindness. She watches over the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many daughters have done well, but you excel them all.”
Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her in the gates.
Being a Mother is a high calling from God. We need to love and honor our Mothers as God chose our mothers for us. We may be opposite in personality or in taste but they are our Mothers to love and respect. Whether she is your natural Mother or adopted Mother she is the MOM the Lord God chose for us. If your Mother or Grandmother have passed into glory you can thank God for the years of sweet memories and hope to see them again in heaven someday. Perhaps you are a grandmother and are enjoying your wonderful grandchildren. What joy it must be to see the third and fourth generations!
You may be expecting your first or second child or you may be raising little ones or older children. Be the best Mom you can be for God’s glory as you are rocking the future. Enjoy Motherhood by loving and encouraging your children to be a blessing to your family and to others. Treasure these years of raising your children and make wonderful memories together because children do grow up and before you know they are graduating from high school and college and going on with their lives. But wait, it does not end here, after they graduate from college and get married, they are still our children and will always be. With God’s grace we can still be a blessing to our children in their adulthood years and continue to encourage them in the ways of the Lord and in the matters of life. Motherhood is for a lifetime.
Jesus replied, “My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.” – Luke 8:21
Heavenly Father, Thank You for Mothers. Bless all Mothers and Women around the world on this special day as we honor them for their love and sacrifice. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
